Opening a CSV File in Excel

Written by Lisanne van den Berg

When you download the Grower List from the Trade Portal, it is provided as a CSV file. CSV is a widely used, standardized format for exchanging data. To ensure the information is displayed correctly in Excel, we recommend importing the file using the steps below.

How to open a CSV file in Excel

  1. Open a new or existing worksheet in Excel.

  2. Go to the Data tab.

  3. Select Get Data > From File > From Text/CSV.

  4. Browse to the downloaded CSV file and click Import.

  5. In the preview window, verify that:

    • the File Origin is set to UTF-8;

    • the correct Delimiter (comma or semicolon) is selected.

  6. Click Load to import the data into your worksheet.

Tip: If the data is not correctly separated into columns, check whether the correct delimiter has been selected during the import process.
